This year, from 4 to 6 July, Essen (Germany) hosted the annual international wedding exhibition “European Bridal Week 2020” (@europeanbridalweek). That was the first wholesale exhibition in the wedding industry which was organized and held after the quarantine. The event itself was postponed several times, the dates were changed, but it took place fortunately for all participants. It is not the first time that we have taken part in @europeanbridalweek as a company. But under quarantine conditions there were a lot of things that made our team pretty nervous.
So, with the beginning of quarantine restrictions, we began to worry and look for answers to the question: “Will we be able to get to the wedding exhibition, because the borders are closed for an indefinite period ...”. The probability to lose the invested resources, and not only material, was very high. And in addition, there was the risk to get into a two-week self-isolation in a foreign country when crossing the border.
As a result of lengthy discussions with colleagues who found themselves in the same situation, it was decided to travel across Hungary, taking advantage of their loyalty to transit cars. Indeed, no questions were asked at the border. On the territory of Germany, we were stopped by the police and they conducted a thorough check of documents. To our surprise, the police officer contacted the organizers of the European Bridal Week 2020 exhibition to confirm our participation in the event. And only after the official confirmation of our participation by the organizers, we were allowed to carry on. Having successfully reached the exhibition, we laid out our stand and were “frozen” in anticipation of the coming reality: are buyers ready to place orders for new collections?
Now that the wedding exhibition is over, we can say with confidence that it has been very successful. Visitors were interested in all products, made orders and made new business acquaintances. Although we have long feared that clients would not come to the exhibition due to the pandemic, but, as you can see, all our fears did not come true.
As a result of the exhibition, we note that despite the unstable economic factors associated with quarantine, people look positively to the future – they are ready to place orders, celebrate weddings and enjoy every day!
In conclusion, we would like to express words of gratitude, first of all, to the organizers of @europeanbridalweek for the quality work done in preparing and holding the event. Wedding exhibition in Essen was held at the highest level. We also express our deep gratitude to all visitors of the exhibition, and especially to our permanent and new partners, who, despite the situation, still managed to place orders for our new collections.
See you soon, friends!
